Why didn't the last person change the toilet roll?

Do you get frustrated that little simple things in practice don’t get done?

Do you find your day is disrupted by irritating simple tasks not being completed?

Have your staff meetings deteriorated into a list of moans about what is not being done and should be done?

What are the sorts of things I am talking about?

Toilet rolls not being changed,
  • Washing up of cups and plates being left
  • Stock not being put away
  • Blown light bulbs being left
  • Answerphone messages not being changed etc etc
Those really simple things that drive you insane because they are not done and most importantly drive your patients away, because at an unconscious level they believe that your practice puts the same care and attention into looking after their teeth as you do replenishing the toilet roll.

And now I will explain why almost every practice I visit up and down the UK asked me to resolve the toilet roll issue.

Why the toilet roll doesn't get changed

This is a little story about four people in a dental practice named Everybody, Somebody,

Anybody, and Nobody.

There was an important job to be done and everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.

Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.

Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody’s job.

Everybody thought that Anybody could do it,

but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it.

It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody
could have done.

And for the solution I have a poem that will give you the answers and that is for another post.
