3 simple tips when having difficult conversations

 




Do you need to have a difficult conversation here are 3 simple tips for you to test out for yourself, let me know how much easier you found it.

 

1)   1)     Instead of starting with “How are you? Use “Thank you for making time to talk to me.”

2)   2)     I need your help with XYZ , e.g. I need your help knowing how to manage this, understand, knowing what to do, knowing how to feel about this. etc

3)   3)     Wrap the conversation up by saying “I feel more settled about this.” Or “I feel we are now headed in a better direction.” Followed by  “How about you?” then give them space to think and answer.
