As a
follower of my newsletter and blog you will be aware that I am a committed
supporter of crisis a charity that provides support of the homeless, and I am regularly
involved with the team that provides dental care, at Christmas, for those less
fortunate than ourselves and have no regular place to live or who are living on
the streets
I
have recently received this e mail from the lady who co-ordinates the dental
arm of the Crisis and wondered if you can help us.
Thank you for your invaluable help in volunteering for
Crisis dental service last year. Without you, our service could not have
functioned.
Volunteering for experienced volunteers opens on Monday 7th October. If you are able to join us you would be most welcome. If not, thank you for your previous support and we hope to see you again in subsequent years.
This year the service will change markedly with the entire service being based at one site in Bermondsey. We are hoping to streamline the operation to allow greater access for our guests.
However, we start with a major setback. Our entire dental stock has disappeared. It was packed into boxes, labelled, sealed and then.....who knows?
So we have to replace everything. As you will appreciate, this is a massive problem which will involve a sizable cost.
If you have any small equipment (amalgamators, curing lights, portable scalers etc) forceps, luxators, elevators, hand instruments etc, etc, which you feel able to donate we would be MOST grateful. If your surgery is being refurbished and something is working but surplus to requirements please think of us.
Anything to cut down the costs is most welcome.
Hoping to see you for Crisis Christmas 13
